Lord Conrad’s Brewery

The brewery was set up in 2007 and quickly set to the task of making its first ale. Based outside Cambridge in the village of Bar Hill. The brewery chose to name all of its brews after streets and local points of interest.

Great News we have now found a new home for the brewery in Dry Drayton and are also in the process of purchasing a bigger brew plant.

In Dry Drayton Manor House farm had a brewhouse many, many years ago so it felt great to be putting that skill back into a beautiful village. Replacing a piece of lost history.

In 2011 the brewery set up in an converted dairy/pig farm building and at the same time drew inspiration from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall a talented writer, broadcaster and campaigner, who is widely known for his uncompromising commitment to seasonal, ethically produced food and has earned a huge following through his River Cottage TV series and books.

With this in mind I started to experiment with flavours and ingredients not commonly used in brewing.

My ultimate goal was to source as much as we could from our doorstep, so that every brew has a piece of local produce within. Like Honey from Over, and Hops from Swavesey. Local lavender and herbs.
