The Shires Brewery was launched in 2009 and based at the historic All Nations Brewhouse in Madeley near Telford which has a brewing tradition stretching back to 1831. Using traditional brewing methods, original recipes and the finest quality hops and malts, Shires produce some of the best Shropshire Ales available from this part of the rural Midlands.

Regular favourites are Shires Best Bitter, Oh Be Joyful! and Shropshire Pride. These were joined in 2010 by Severn Gorgeous which simply outsold all of them! These ales are supplemented by the Dabley Ale, Dabley Gold and Coalport Mild which were once supplied exclusively to the All Nations tap house next door. Seasonal brews include Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter Classics whilst occasional brews like Redneck means there`s always something different on offer to the licensee.

Shires have a wide customer base throughout central England and serve the counties of Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire as well as the West Midlands area. Many of their customers are Free Houses but the increasing demand for local real ales has led to many tenancies introducing a Guest Ale pump. In 2010 Shires saw an unprecedented increase in free trade sales of 36% after completely rebranding their point of sales and expanding their sales operation.
