Based in Groombridge on the East Sussex Kent border, owner and brewer Marcus Howes set out to create his own beers with character.

Driven by his passion for a love of good beer, he set up Black Cat Brewery and began brewing in May 2011. His aim is all about making decent beer, properly, commercially and professionally on a small scale and helping people appreciate and preserve their national drink.

Traditional floor malted barley, hops, water and yeast are the basic ingredients that produce great tasting Black Cat beers. All the beer produced is cask conditioned to allow depth of flavour to develop.

Marcus believes that by keeping things simple and using the freshest raw ingredients of the highest quality, ensures furry good beer.
