An engineer by trade but he loved real ale so much that one day he popped out of his hobbit hole, brushed his furry feet and with a business partner decided to have a go at making real ale himself. This resulted in Danelaw Brewery which produced 10 different real ales, including the popular ‘Golden Tears’. He is currently the brewer and creator of the award winning ales that are produced by the Rowditch Inn based on Uttoxeter New Road in Derby. Steve is very excited with this new venture and is looking forward to producing some new recipes.
Carla Johnson has had a varied working career from motorcycle shops to banks but has always been a passionate real ale fan. Having been an active member of CAMRA since 2007 she decided that her dream job would be working in the brewing industry. Taking on the roles of brewer, sales and deliveries is big challenge but an undertaking she believes is well worth it for better availability and variety of quality real ale. Carla has been brewing since 2010 and has been doing it solo since the summer of 2011
