Having spent 35 years working in the pharmaceutical industry, I decided it was time to take a leap and follow what has long been a passion of mine – to brew ale and set up a micro brewery. And so, after a year or so of preparation and many home brews,  we started brewing commercially in April 2012.

While brewing on a commercial scale is very different from brewing at home and presents many challenges, my aim has been to produce fantastic tasting ales at a very high standard and also to assemble a wide range of different types of ale to cater for all beer drinkers. The name NORTH STÁR and our slogan, ‘Navigate your way to the perfect pint’ therefore summarise the principles behind our beer production.
